About the Founder

From an Ordinary Beginning to an Extraordinary Question

I’m Serena Wang, founder of Senux Tech.

I grew up in a small county in Northeast China, far from the world’s major centers of technology, opportunity, and influence.

I didn’t come from a family of scientists, engineers, or entrepreneurs. Much of my path — from education and moving abroad to building a life in New York and Seattle — was something I had to discover for myself.

Along the way, life taught me far more than any classroom could.

I’ve experienced uncertainty, setbacks, loneliness, hope, and joy. I’ve seen the distance between social classes, the unequal access to opportunity, and how easily people living in different circumstances can misunderstand one another.

I’ve cried. I’ve laughed. I’ve struggled to find my place in the world.

And through it all, I’ve remained deeply moved by humanity.

I’ve cried for human suffering, for the cruelty and injustice that continue to unfold around us. But I’ve also been moved to tears by extraordinary acts of kindness — by people who stand up for strangers, protect the vulnerable, and choose love when it would be easier to look away.

I have seen humanity’s sorrow, and I have seen its light. Both have shaped the future I want to build.

Today, I am building an AI technology project with an ordinary laptop, a full-time job, limited resources, and a vision much larger than my circumstances.

I don’t have a traditional computer science background or a well-funded research lab.

Sometimes I look at the extraordinary resources behind established AI companies and wonder where someone like me belongs.

But then I ask myself a different question:

If AI is shaping humanity’s future, shouldn’t more of humanity have a voice in building it?

I believe the future of technology should not belong only to those who already have the greatest resources.

And I believe machines should serve people — not diminish their dignity, replace their sense of purpose, or leave them behind.

I want AI to become a partner in human possibility: helping people learn, create, connect, overcome limitations, and build lives they once thought were beyond their reach.

That belief became the foundation of Senux Tech.

Through projects such as Orienta and our broader exploration of human-centered AI, we are working toward systems that better understand human needs, respect human agency, and act with greater responsibility.

We are still early. There are difficult technical questions ahead, and much remains to be built and proven.

I don’t know whether Senux will become a great company, a small independent business, or something I cannot yet imagine.

But I know why I began.

I don’t want humanity to be defeated by the machines we create. I want machines to help humanity flourish.

And if you’re someone who has ever felt too ordinary, too far from opportunity, or too under-resourced to make a difference, I hope this journey reminds you that your starting point does not have to define your destination.

We may not have the power to predict the future.

But we can choose to help shape it.

Every time we build, we cast a vote for the future we want to see.
